Episode #173 – Sunshine and Rainbows and Brock Boeser

Epsiode173

Brock Boeser made the entire NHL notice his impressive rookie season and his abilities at the 2018 NHL All-Star Weekend in Tampa… he won just about everything he could!

Geeta, Ryan and P Mac join you this week from the palatial estate to discuss Vancouver Canucks fans’ high coming off the All-Star weekend. Brock Boeser impressed everyone, winning the accuracy shooting contest, the All-Star Game MVP award AND best hair (PON gave him that award). He also adopted a puppy. Is there anything this kid can’t do?!

They also discuss Kid Rock playing during the intermission, and regardless of the Mr. Rock’s reputation, they rave about the weekend in general. Quite possibly one of the most fun NHL All-Star weekend in years  (except for the John Scott year, but the NHL wants you to forget about that).

They’re also talking about Jaromir Jagr’s demotion, and likely his last NHL action (for now…). Should another team maybe have picked him up? How about the Canucks? They’re clearly playing for 31st. Jagr could help move some #68 blue jerseys and put some fans in the seats!

Finally, the gang drafts and dresses their own starting lineups. A  unit of the most disruptive, toxic, cancer in the locker room players off the ice, and degenerate and dangerous goons on the ice!

Enjoy!

Episode #172 – She’s All That

Episod172

The Canucks rumour mill is churning nice and hot going into the NHL All-Star Break as fans and media are all curious, could Ken Holland be the next general manager of the Vancouver Canucks?

Ryan, P Mac and Geeta gather this week to talk about another week of pure success from the Vegas Golden Knights. William Karlsson’s incredible shooting percentage and that home ice advantage have the Knights leading the NHL right now! They discuss how Torts and the Blue Jackets plan to combat that Vegas flu. Will it pay off? Will the players play better while playing guilty?

They also discuss the Ken Holland rumours or at least entertain the idea of the longtime Red Wings GM heading to the west coast to turn the Canucks around. Is Holland the guy to do it? Is his track record in Detroit come with some asterisks? Not a lot of fans are sold on him or his drive to keep the Red Wings’ playoff streak alive, would he be a good fit in Vancouver?

They also discuss the culture problems in Arizona as word came out that Louis Domingue described the unusual and unprofessional way the Coyotes handled his contract and roster spot in his final days in Arizona.

They also discuss the red hot Colorado Avalanche and Nathan MacKinnon’s Hart Trophy worthy season, further discuss the Matt Duchene effect, the Oilers’ gift to the New York Rangers and the chances of another season of Sedinery in Vancouver

Enjoy!

Episode #171 – Sex, Lies, and Murder

Episode171a

The bye-week nonsense is here and while all the NHL players are down in Mexico drinking on fancy watercraft, we’re stuck without any games!

P Mac, Geeta and Ryan join you this week to discuss Jason Spezza being a healthy scratch. The latest in the motivational tactics given to rookies this season, with Brent Seabrook being a healthy scratch this month in Chicago.

They discuss the bye-weeks in the NHL, as the Canucks are now on theirs after knocking off Columbus and Minnesota in impressive fashion. As the team gets healthier, could these rare and unusual wins become a more common occurrence?

They take a look at the nobodies and former Vancouver Canucks sprinkled throughout the Canadian Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey team, from Mason Raymond to old Willie D himself! They also discuss Nikolay Goldobin being sent down to Utica. Is he being sent down just to keep the legs fresh? Or has he lost his roll on the team?

They discuss the latest player wanting out of Arizona, Anthony Duclair. He heads to Chicago at a bargain price as the problems continue for the Coyotes. How much longer will they last in Arizona, where they’re constantly taking one step forward and three steps back.

Finally, they discuss Vegas’ home ice advantage, Geeta plays F.M.K and the gang decides to buy some naming rights of defunct NHL teams.

Enjoy!

Episode #170 – Gudbranson’s Gud Trade Value

Ep170

Happy new year everybody! A full bench joins together at Geeta’s palatial estate to talk about about the harsh realty of a Stanley Cup parade down the Vegas strip. How did those Golden Knights get so good, how far can they go in the playoffs and how well are they set up for the future?

The gang also discusses the pesky problem facing the Canucks, Erik Gudbranson. As the rumblings of being on the trade block are becoming crystal clear. Where does he wind up? Will another general manager swoon over his grit and his intangibles? Or will he Dan Hamhuis his way out of town?

They also discuss the Chicago Blackhawks and Jeff Glass, the 2005 World Juniors gold medal winning goalie who made his NHL debut 12 years later. They also discuss Canada’s gold medal win in Buffalo over Sweden and discuss a certain silver medal thrown over some curtain glass.

They also discuss the likelihood of Jim Benning remaining as general manager next season in Vancouver, who could possibly take over the role and a positive story out of Long Island as the NY Islanders appear to finally have a new home for their NHL point leading forwards John Tavares, Josh Bailey and Anders Lee

Enjoy!
